If you wish to become a Sponsor
Bike to Work Week 2012 runs from May 27 to June 3 and we need some help to get people to take part.
We’ll be working hard to encourage the public to ride their bikes during the week (and hopefully after it too!) but need some incentives to get them to register their mileage. This is important to the promotion of cycling as government funding for Bike to Work Week is based on evidence of reduced carbon emissions.
Please contact your suppliers for donations or take a look at your stock to see if there are some attractive goodies or useful services that could be offered as draw prizes. The participating businesses will be mentioned in our Public Relations campaign which includes the Bike To Work Week Oceanside Website, Posters which will be distributed throughout the Oceanside area and your business’ Logo will be displayed on the Bike To Work Week Oceanside T-Shirts.
Among other ideas for the week we have already secured discounts for cyclists at restaurants and coffee shops throughout Oceanside and hope that businesses in the Oceanside area which are interested in cycling will get on board and make the week a high profile success.
We have also arranged for rides with both the Parksville and Qualicum Beach Mayors and Council Members. In addition, there will be a Community Ride to Little Qualicum Cheeseworks on the last day of Bike To Work Week. Information about Bike To Work Week can be found at www.biketowork.ca/oceanside.
Please contact Jim Swanson (j.e.swanson@shaw.ca) if you are interested in participating in “Bike To Work Week”.
Many thanks,
