HOW TO REGISTER FOR BTWW
If you are RE-REGISTERING an existing team, please:
On behalf of the Sea to Sky Clean Air Society, I would like to thank all of the individuals and teams that participated in Bike to Work Week 2013. There were 96 teams in total, which is a record number for the Sea to Sky Corridor! Close to 250 riders rode at least 3 out of the 7 days, which represents a significant reduction in vehicle emissions during the period- good news for our airshed. 2.76 tonnes of Greenhouse Gas Emissions were avoided, which is roughly equivalent to taking one passenger vehicle off the road fro 7 months!
Many people told me that that they will continue to ride their bike to work, which is the best possible outcome of this initiative.
The following people have been entered into the prize draw for Bike to Work Week prizes which consist of:
- A seasons pass to the bike park
- A triple play pass for the bike park care of Whistler Blackcomb
- A cruiser bike care of Comor Sports
- A Giro helmet kindly donated by Bike Co.
- Panniers generously donated by Corsa Cycles
- A child bike carrier kindly donated by Mammacangura
- A 60 minute massage treatment care of Kim Fairall / Axis Massage
- A woman’s bicycle tank top care of The Funky Monkey Boutique
The draw will happen tomorrow at Whistler EnviroFest (Olympic Plaza) at the Sea to Sky Clean Air Society booth at 2 pm. Those that rode 6 or more days have been entered twice. Good luck to everyone!
A big thanks goes out to all the amazing team leaders that have emailed me the names of people that rode 3 + days during Bike to Work Week AND entered their teams’ results into this website! Tomorrow is the LAST day to send me the names of people that rode 3+ days. 114 people are entered into the draw to date. I will post the list on Friday here. The draw will take place at the Sea to Sky Clean Air Society’s booth during EnviroFest this Saturday June 8th- 2 pm (Olympic Plaza, Whistler).

Feel free to print and share with your staff. Many teams find it easiest if team members keep track of their personal bike trips and km’s on a piece of paper and then the Team Leader enters all the results in to this website at the end of the week.
Don’t forget individuals that bike to and from work 3 days or more will be entered into the prize draw! A bike park seasons’ pass, cruiser bike, panniers and helmet are all up for grabs!

June 5th is Clean Air Day!
No Problem, I Ride to Work Now!
Did you know?
We use our air every two seconds to breathe, and although we can’t see it, it is as important as our drinking water. The main threat to clean air in our region is polluting emissions from cars and trucks, so riding your bike is one of the best things you can do to maintain good air quality!
Clean Air Day is a fun way to continue your commitment to protecting the environment and the air we breathe. Many communities in Canada have Clean Air Day activities. Visit this website to find out how you become part of the solution:www.cleanairday.com.
Participation = Tracking your kilometres + Having Fun!
