This morning’s station provides upstown commuters a quick refuling station on their way to work. Thanks to Kelly and our local BCAA team for sponsoring another great Station!
We had a special visitor from Bike to Work Week BC; Richard Bakus, the President of our provincial group came to check out our P.G. event today. He was snapping photos of our participants to take home. Richard’s favourite thing about PG BTWW? Our Bus signage! He was really impressed to see this as evidence of the great relationship between the PG Cycling Club, the City, and BC Transit.
Here’s Richard getting a shot of Peter’s family bike.
Bike to Work Week 2013 has launched in the City of Terrace!
With less than one month remaining until Bike to Work Week, it is time to get the bikes out of the shed, put some air in the tires, and prepare yourself for the challenge. 2012 was the first year that the City of Terrace formally participated in Bike to Work Week.
We had over 130 participants in 2012 and we are hoping to more than double our participation in 2013, with the ambitious goal of 300 participants.
Bike to Work Week Terrace will again be offering basic bike tune-ups to participating workplaces. Bike repair sessions are offered on a first come, first serve basis to any workplace that can get 25% of their employees to commit to partake in the initiative. To sign up for these workshops, please contact email@example.com, but act fast as they will fill quickly.
June 5th is Clean Air Day!
No Problem, I Ride to Work Now!
Did you know?
We use our air every two seconds to breathe, and although we can’t see it, it is as important as our drinking water. The main threat to clean air in our region is polluting emissions from cars and trucks, so riding your bike is one of the best things you can do to maintain good air quality!
Clean Air Day is a fun way to continue your commitment to protecting the environment and the air we breathe. Many communities in Canada have Clean Air Day activities. Visit this website to find out how you become part of the solution:www.cleanairday.com.
